What is covered?
Our driving insurance (also known as non-owned auto coverage) follows you as the driver of rented or borrowed cars for personal use. That means you’re covered when you borrow a car from a friend, rent a traditional rental car, or use a car sharing service such as Zipcar, Turo or Getaround. We cover expenses related to injuries and property damage you cause to others or lawsuits that arise from being found at-fault. We also cover your injuries caused by another driver who is at fault and has no insurance or too little insurance. We do not cover any damage to the vehicle you've rented or borrowed.
Additionally, we cover injuries to you or lost wages resulting from an accident. Finally, we provide protection to you while walking or biking for injuries and lost wages if you're struck by a driver with no insurance or too little insurance (including hit and run).
What is not covered?
Our non-owned auto coverage does not cover any vehicle, or incidents arising from the use of, a vehicle that you own. Our non-owned auto insurance also does not cover physical damage to the car that you’ve borrowed or rented.
How much coverage do I get?
With Surround Core you are covered up to $100,000 for injuries or damage to other's property you cause while driving. You will also be covered up to $100,000 for injuries to you that are caused by another driver who is at fault and has no insurance or too little insurance.
